Pricing transition FAQ

How the move to Starter/Adviser/Elite pricing works, the two key dates, and exactly how charges work for existing customers, new seats, downgrades and cancellations.

We've moved to a simpler, three-plan pricing model. This guide explains what's changing, when it takes effect, and exactly how your billing works through the transition — so there are no surprises. If you can't find your answer here, message us and we'll help.

The short version

  • From 1 July 2026, every paid plan includes all practice areas for your country, and we've unlocked a wave of new features. Your price did not change on 1 July.

  • We've moved from practice-area pricing to three plans: Starter, Adviser and Elite.

  • Your new price takes effect at your first renewal on or after 1 August 2026 — not before.

What's changing

Plan

Price (per user / month)

Pro credits per seat / month

Starter

£39 / $39

None (workspace bundles only)

Adviser

£99 / $99

200

Elite

£199 / $199

1,000

Prices are shown in your local currency (NZD, AUD or GBP) and exclude GST/VAT. What now separates the plans is Pro credits (used for deep research and AI meeting notes) and access to advanced features, rather than how many practice areas you've bought.

We've also rebranded from Law Cyborg to Nylon — same team, same product, new name.

The two key dates

The transition runs on two separate clocks: when features change, and when your price changes.

1 July 2026 — new features, same price. All existing customers were moved onto a default plan and immediately got the new features and full practice-area access. Nothing about your bill changed on this date.

Your first renewal on or after 1 August 2026 — new price applies. Your new plan price takes effect on your normal renewal date, the first time it falls on or after 1 August. Until then you keep paying your existing price.

This gap — new features now, new price at your August renewal — is a deliberate free transition window so the change feels fair.

How charges work during the transition (existing customers)

Between 1 July and your first August renewal: you keep paying your current (old) price, even though you already have the new features and full access.

At your first renewal on or after 1 August: you move to your new plan price. There's no mid-cycle proration and no back-charging for the free window in July — your new price simply starts at your renewal.

Changing your plan during the July window is free. Any plan change you make before your first August bill affects your features only, not your price — it won't trigger the new pricing early. This lets you right-size your plan before you ever pay the new rate, but you will loose the free trial of the new features instantly.

Adding a seat during the July window is charged straight away at your old base rate, prorated for the rest of the cycle. That new seat then moves to the new pricing at your August renewal along with the rest of your account. You might see a different price on the confirmation page, but you'll be charged less.

In short: in July you can change plans for free, and added seats are billed at your old rate until August.

How charges work after the switch (from August)

Once your account is on the new pricing, billing follows a simple charge-at-time-of-change model:

  • Upgrades (e.g. Adviser → Elite, or adding a seat) are billed immediately on the day you make the change.

  • Downgrades take effect at your next renewal — you keep your current features until then, and there are no refunds or credits for the remainder of the period you've already paid for.

Downgrading and cancelling during July

You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your account settings, if you are an account admin or owner

  • Downgrading: is done from the "My Team" page.

    • On the relevant user select the pencil icon to edit the subscription

    • Then change the plan to the new tier

    • Click update

  • Cancelling: if you're thinking of cancelling, you can do this from the profile page. Read more about cancellation here.

If you want to reduce your cost ahead of the new pricing, the July window is the best time.

New customers signing up after 1 July

If you sign up as a brand-new customer from 1 July onward, you choose one of the three plans at the new pricing from the start.

Pro credits and workspace bundles

Pro credits power deep-research runs and AI meeting notes. As a guide, 10 credits ≈ one deep-research run or one hour of AI meeting notes.

  • Adviser includes 200 credits per seat per month; Elite includes 1,000 per seat per month. Starter doesn't include monthly credits.

  • Need more? Any plan can add a workspace credit bundle — a shared pool the whole firm can draw on. Bundles are available in 100, 500, 2,000 and 10,000 credits at $0.50 per credit, billed monthly and refreshed at the start of each billing month. Larger bundles are discounted: 5% off 500, 10% off 2,000, and 15% off 10,000.

Bundles are a pre-purchased pool, not pay-as-you-go — you're never charged for usage you didn't buy.

Quick answers

Will my price change on 1 July?
No. Features changed on 1 July; your price only changes at your first renewal on or after 1 August.

Will I be charged twice or back-charged for July?
No. You pay your old price through July and simply move to the new price at your August renewal. There's no proration or back-charge for the transition window.

Do I get all practice areas now?
Yes — every paid plan now includes full access to all practice areas in your country.

Can I avoid the increase by downgrading?
You can change plans for free during the July window, and the change applies before your first new bill. Downgrades made after the switch take effect at your next renewal.

What if I want to continue trying the new features?

To take advantage of the new features, you can use July to try them out. If you downgrade, you'll lose straight away to things like the AI Connector or the Meeting notetaker.

What if I do nothing?
You stay on the default plan we mapped you to and start paying that plan's price at your first August renewal. We'll email you the exact amount beforehand.
