Access the tool
Click Depreciation Rate Finder in the navigation bar.
Look up a rate
Enter an asset description (e.g., “laptop computer”, “office desk”, “company vehicle”).
Optionally select industry to improve accuracy.
Click Submit.
Review the classification and rate.
What it can do
Classify assets per Inland Revenue guidance
Recognise industry-specific asset descriptions
Accept multi-language asset descriptions
Suggest a rate based on the asset’s meaning
Limitations
You must verify accuracy
May not detect when a default rate should apply
Not conversational (each query is independent)
